• Attention: Alabama State University Student Body (Friday, January 27, 2012)
  

  The department of MIS has made current changes to the student email system. A campus email has been automatically created for each student currently enrolled in the University. The email address consist of the first initial of your first name + your full last name + the last four digits of your student id number.

  Ex. John Smith 

  Student id: 12345678

  Jsmith5678@myasu.alasu.edu

  The password for each account is set to your student id number. If your student id consist of a leading zero, do not include this zero. Once you have successfully logged in, the option to change your password will be available.

  Ex. Password: 12345678

  *Please update your blackboard email to your newly created student email address. If you experience any problems, please contact the help desk at 334-229-8611.

• Blackboard Maintenance Completed (Saturday, January 21, 2012)
  
  Blackboard maintenance is now successfully completed. Two critical issues have been fixed during this maintenance. One is related to the problem with the discussion board attachment issue. The other one is related to Control Panel -> Users for instructors. Should you experience any issue related to these two problems, please contact Academic Computing (ext. 8430) during our normal business hour.
• FLS 161 and ENG 219 Available (Wednesday, January 11, 2012)
  
  Students who wish to register for FLS 161: Spanish I may now do so via Hornet's web. Student may now also register for ENG 219: Introduction to Research Methods via Hornet's Web.
• Course Copy (Tuesday, January 10, 2012)
  
  The "Browse" function is broken in Course Copy next to Destination Course ID text field. To use the Course Copy function in Blackboard, instructors should manually enter course id in the text field instead of using the "Browse" button. For example, if you want to copy your course from MAT.120.01.2111 to MAT.120.01.2121, you need to just put in MAT.120.01.2121 in the "Destination Course ID" text field. You must also make sure there is no space before and after the course id.
• Password Reset to Default Last Six Digits of CWID (Monday, January 9, 2012)
  

  Please use the default password to login and change it. Your email is also reset. Please update it too.
